Prep cook, Commis

 PRIMARY FUNCTION
To assist in the preparation and service of quality meals for our guest and staff

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. # Contribute to the success of our food preparation by helping the department meet its objectives
  2. # Prepare menu items as designated by the sous chef and cooks.
  3. # Help to maintain all necessary mise en place
  4. # Carry out cleaning duties as designated
  5. # Contribute to menu planning by communicating ideas the Chef and Sous Chef.
  6. # Assist in controlling food cost by rotating stock and maintaining proper storage
  7. # Maintain your station in a clean and sanitary condition keeping in mind safety first
  8. # Understand that job shifts and hours fluctuate with business demands. Shifts may include early mornings late evenings, weekends, and some holidays
  9. # Carry out all duties as requested by management
  10. # Read and understand Staff handbook
  11. # Attend and participate in staff meetings
  12. # Fill out closing inventories for prep and order

SKILLS REQUIRED

  1. # Basic understanding of food preparation, sanitation and food handling
  2. # Able to follow recipes
  3. # Be a team worker
  4. # Be reliable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. # Able to lift and carry items up to 60 #s
  2. # Able to work standing for long periods
